amsterdam, travel

day 3 and 4 of amsterdam

welcome back, you already know to read this when you need to poop, sleep, or are bored.

so, only a couple of my friends know this, but I journal. I decided to take my journal with me on the trip even if I didn’t really write a lot of entries in it, but let me tell you. that came in handy right now as i’m attempting to relive these moments. cue: moments by one direction

the reason I love traveling with maria is because she knows what she wants to do, but is also open to whatever I suggested. I mainly suggested food since I’m fat. comment your favorite food at the moment. we used my journal to jot down what we wanted to see/do. I used yelp and google to search up places for breakfast and I found https://www.moakpancakes.nl/

maria had actually seen a cat cafe while we were walking around the first day we arrived and we decided to go there before breakfast. when you get there, you pay to go into the cafe. I think it was $5? then they walk you over to the back where you get a menu in case you want small pastries and coffee. the cats were there… but they were over it. they were too busy sleeping. they were cute though. after we wrapped up there we went over to moak. it’s a really cute place for the gram. they have some pancakes that are about $110 USD, rightfully they are called “the golddigger” apparently it has 24k leaves lmfao. so if you want to flex about some expensive ass pancakes while you’re in amsterdam, you know where to go. I however, am a broke bitch so I went with the blue magic deluxe which has blueberries, strawberries, and bananas. this place is cool because they have vegan options. I would give it a 2.5/5 because i’m fat and nothing beats american pancakes. or so I thought… more to come when we get to paris.

maria wanted to rent bikes to experience the amsterdam experience. we found a little shop that rented them for the cheap. the seat was hella uncomfortable though. long story short, she thrived and I got left behind because apparently these mfs have hella laws that you have to follow and it was a lot so I just chilled and let her go, but eventually she noticed I wasn’t there so she came back for me and we lied to the bike guy and said I fell off the bike. he was nice and only charged us half. here I am literally being a poser before returning the bike. from here we decided to explore some more. we ended up walking through the red light district, but during the day because apparently it’s dangerous to go at night cause people be getting sex trafficked and shit. we weren’t trying to live the plot of taken while we were here so we played it safe.

before we knew it, it was our last day in amsterdam. which was sad for us because we actually enjoyed amsterdam since it’s a very peaceful, green, friendly, welcoming, like, this place felt unreal. I wish I had spent more time here. hopefully someday i’ll be back. before leaving, we decided that we wanted to go on a canal tour. a million/10 would recommend. it’s really affordable $20, depending on which tour you choose. airbnb offers cool ones that give you breakfast, but we were tight on time because our flight was at 5pm that day.

we obviously didn’t want to carry our luggage around, so I googled luggage storages and there was one pretty close to where we were going to go on the boat ride. this comes in handy because you pay $10, write down which luggage you’re checking in, and you come back before the storage closes. we walked over to the dock, looked for the company we had bought the tickets through, and checked in. when you walk onto the boat this company (who I can’t remember i’m soz) gives you headphones! you plug them onto the side and you can actually choose which language you want your tour in. enjoy these pictures from the trip and I will see you in paris.
